A collage of images representing the work of the H X Lab, showing our design process: sketching, paper prototyping, physical prototyping, software development, and evaluation of technology in real-world healthcare and mobile settings. The image is a link to a description of research projects in the H X Lab

The Health Experience and Applications (Hx) Lab investigates how intelligent technologies can be designed and developed in ways that support people's health and well-being.

We study the perspectives of families, individuals, and clinical caregivers, to distill needs related to inclusion, trust, privacy, safety, and fairness. We draw on these needs to design, build, and evaluate computing systems that respect people's health and well-being needs.
